Marriage and Divorce Information from the American Psychological Association (http://www.

The section of the APA’s web-site reviews some of the latest news and research about couple
relationships.

The Coalition for Marriage, Family and Couples Education (www.smartmarriages.com)

Smartmarriages.com provides extensive information and resources about marriage education. The
site includes a directory of marriage education classes throughout the country.

The Gottman Institute (http://www.gottman.com/)

Dr. John Gottman is one of the world’s most respected marriage researchers. Findings from his
“Love Lab” at the University of Washington have had a powerful influence on the practice of marital
therapy. The web-site for the Gottman Institute, which he co-founded with his wife, Dr. Julie Schwartz
Gottman, has some research-based relationship information, a store with the Gottmans’ books, and
information about therapy and workshops provided by the Gottmans and other therapists affiliated
with their Institute.

On this site, the NASW provides consumer information about various relationship issues that
couples may face.

Describing itself as “The Only Pro Commitment Marriage Counseling Site in the Nation,” this site is
designed to help people who are interested in seeking therapy with a mental health professional who
has committed to taking a “pro-commitment” stance in his or her work with couples. You can read
